There are those who think the best time is on an empty stomach, such as first thing in the morning before breakfast. If you have two school kids to wash, dress, and feed - as well as a hubby (to feed only) - then you'll have little time. Exercising on an empty stomach does force the body to use excess fat as energy. But the downside is that it can cause tiredness if your body doesn't have sufficient energy to exercise correctly. So you will probably not be able to keep up the activity for as long, therefore reducing its beneficial effect. Exercising straight after a meal however isn't good either as your body is busy digesting the food so the blood isn't being pumped around your body fast enough for you to exercise as well - so you will tire more quickly. You need to find a convenient daily or weekly slot, preferably about two hours after a meal, to set aside for your regular exercise routine.
